Quiet unassuming place, heavily recommended by RL ... Pretty decent, if you like authentic Kelantanese cuisine! Khao Jam time ;-)
We opted for the set (RM$8.90 - RM$9.90), which meant the drink and a soup was free. What great value!
I found the nasi kerabu to be complex, healthy (so much vege!) but it is an acquired taste, the "green-ness" of it wasn't completely to my liking. I did enjoy the fried chicken though!
Rasarasa.net ... Nasi Kerabu whose green coloured looking rice is cooked using over 40 different types of herbs that have blended together. It is served with sliced onion, strips of bunga kantan or ginger flower, chopped daun kesom or basil leaves, bean sprouts, sliced cucumber, cabbage, shredded fish, fried crackers and topped with desiccated coconut. Homemade fresh chilli sauce is served. You can order fried fish or chicken to go with it.
I liked this more! Delicious Nasi dagang :-)
Rasarasa.net ... This steamed brown rice dish is cooked using santan or coconut milk and turmeric. It comes with pickled carrot, cabbage, onion and chilli that have been cut into thin strips. This dish is also served with blanched cabbage, long beans, pineapple and a half slice of hard boiled egg. Homemade dried chilli sauce accompanies this dish, which is best eaten with ikan tengkol cooked in turmeric and santan or you can opt for kari ayam or chicken curry.
The fried fish (ikan goreng) was very fresh, RM$2.80 each.
Laksa Kelantan was colourful but bland ... I wouldn't order this next time! However, it was good value at RM$4.50.
Rasarasa.net ... Laksa Kelantan or laksa lemak containing blended fish cooked in kunyit and santan and garnished with chopped cabbage, sliced ginger flower, cucumber, chopped basil leaves rice and fresh chilli sauce to go with the rice noodles from Vietnam.
They even served us slices of Watermelon at the end of the meal ... it was a good way to spend a weekend afternoon!
