Namaste Indian cuisine, Taman Tun Dr Ismail TTDI

Add: NAMASTE INDIAN RESTAURANT, 4 Jalan Datuk Sulaiman, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, KL
Tel: 03-7724 1195
Opening hours: Opened every day, 7am - 11pm

An ol' friend who was back from the UK commented that she didn't see much indian food in my blog ... Hmm, you are right SM! So, we set out to try this family-favourite restaurant of hers, and it didn't dissapoint in the slightest ... Well balanced food (Different from much of the Indian food I was used to i.e. over-powering!), in a quiet (Don't see many patrons here, most of the time!) environment, and generally just a nice place to have a meal!

Their piece de resistance ... wonderful Chicken Briyani. About RM$13-14.

This is where the chicken is ... hidden under the rather large bowl of rice. Tender and beautifully marinated, excellent!

Mama fish curry ... Nice! Again, not overly sour.

I never go to an Indian without having ... Aloo Gobi (Cauliflower with Potatoes). Pretty good too!

Garlic Naan (Just over RM$4) - Nice accompaniment to the food, but I much prefered the briyani rice ... yummm.

SM's cuppa tea, Teh Masalla I think. Thanks for the treat, and for the catch up ... bon voyage :-)

Have been following your blog silently for a while now, enjoying your foodie write-ups and all the commendable work you do for charity. Even I was thinking how come no write ups on Indian food, nice to know you appreciate it:)

Keep up the good work!

Thanks MB! Appreciate the very kind comments.

As for the charity work, my friends and I always gain more personally from this trips, and this can't even compare with the smiles on the kiddies faces!

I do love Indian food, but had an over-dose of the stuff between 1994-2003, so just starting all over again ... now!

Happy MERDEKA!
