Warisan Asli Malay Restaurant, Klang

Warung Warisan Asli - 30 Lorong Batu Nilam 3d, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, 42000 Klang
Telephone - (Hmm, the DIRECTOR'S number is listed, how odd! +6012 2788 206)
Interestingly decorated place, sort of like a kampung house with lots of woven textiles ... The food was rather good too!
1) Nasi Lemak Kukus Ayam Kampung ($8.90)
2) Bi Hun Goreng Warisan ($5.50) - YUMMY
3) Telur Bungkus ($4.50) - YUMMY
4) Sotong Goreng Lada (100 grams - $5)
5) Tomyam Campur ($6.90) - Still doesn't compare with Santai's (TTDI)
6) Air Sirap Limau ($1.90) - Didn't quite like this
7) Limau Ais with Lychee ($2.90) - Slurrrrrrrrp!
8) Hot Milo ($1.90)
9) Fruit cocktail with Ice shavings ($4.90)
With service charge in, the total was a reasonable $47.

Qi Xiang Noodles, SS2 in PJ

Interesting menu at this restaurant located between Legend Hi Fi and Public Bank in SS2 ... Very yummy lamb stew. Good tasty hand-pulled noodles too.
Have to admit we went to this place cos' it was convenient :-) and it was a rainy day ... and felt bad for the proprietors who never seem to pull many people in to eat! Especially compared to the choc'a'bloc/packed/incredibly busy Murni Mamak down the road. I am glad we gave it a go ... food's worth eating!

Tim Sum at Hong Kee, Damansara Jaya

Good timsum, rather good value too at just 34 bucks for me folks and myself. Yummy! Highlight was the Sang Chow Loh Mai Fan (Glutinous rice), fantastic flavour.
Add: No 18 & 20, Jalan SS22/25 , Damansara Jaya , 47400 Petaling Jaya.
Tel: +6012 606 9787
Opened: 7.00am to 3.00pm daily (Go on the weekends, as the loh mai fan is only available then! But be prepared to wait .. long queues. And the parking is rather challenging too, gotta double park most times!)
Pricing is a little odd ... They come around to your table after the meal and just count the plates, no 'writing down' as the food is served to you like in other timsum places. Nevertheless, good value and they seem to know what they are doing!

Also really enjoyed the Woo-Kok, Fried Beancurd, Egg-plant (Aubergine) Yong Tau Foo. Tasty!

The chee-cheong-fun (prawn) and siu-mais / har kao were OK. Nothing to shout about though!

Dad found the porridge rather lumpy and too thick ... and I thought the egg-tarts base was too hard and not crispy enough, as well as being too sweet.

Kia Carnival 'Pesta'

Kia Carnival ... 'PES74' = PESTA = Malay for ' carnival ' ... cool eh! Spotted in Damansara over the weekend.

Prince Cafe in SS2, PJ

Prince Cafe - 58&60, Jalan SS2/67, Petaling Jaya.
Telephone - +603 7874 3995
A popular eatery serving Kim Gary style HK-western food in the heart of SS2 ... 'Maggi' Mee goreng here is fantastic! Its actually called a 'Nissin Pork Dices noodles' ($8) and is full of flavour, smells divine too. Found the Red Bean Snow to be rather sweet (and get one for 2 to share, its big. $6), as was the Summer Tea ($3.80). At least that was served in a rather interesting 'boot' glass! Also had a fresh orange ($6) and an indistinct Iced Green Tea ($3).

Nasi Lemak at Tanjung Puteri, Hartamas

Nostalgic 60s memorabilia (Note - P Ramlee et al) surround you, both on the walls as in the piped music, as you enjoy your nasi lemak at this Malay hawker in Sri Hartamas ... Located near the traffic light junction for Desa Sri Hartamas/KLGCC/Jln Duta.
Interesting selection of sambals but the dim lighting means I couldn't tell which was what, anyway it was still good! As was the fried meehoon and the sirap-limau (Thanks Map!).

Golf GTi ... Wet?

Spotted at SS2 in PJ last night ...

Golf at Kajang Hills

Located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, off the KL-Seremban Highway ... its one of Malaysia's nicest golf courses, Kajang Hill. Not easy = I shot 108 :-( but managed 2 pars along the way (Played magically for first 5 holes on the Front 9) ... and not cheap! $182 including buggy and insurance. Played with Paul (110) and Cheik (102 - Played really well).
At least our team won the Paul-Cheik-Julian v SooKa-Jeanette-Pete competition!
